"The Card House" is one of my most emotional works, created through a layered construction using acrylic mixed techniques, various brushes, and airbrush over months of meticulous work.
The motivation behind the painting is the entire time of Corona. Back then, it wasn't just the coronavirus with all its measures and regulations, but many other things that deeply affected me.
Femicide, embezzlement
Almost every day, there are reports of a new murder of a woman.
If you look closely, you'll notice that I've immortalized the exact date of death and age of each murder victim in the painting.
The gun symbolizes unnecessary aggression.
The burning banknote symbolizes the squandering of our prosperity! Corruption is at an all-time high, plagiarism accusations are commonplace, money is misappropriated, and wrongful paths are taken.
Division of society, deity pharmaceutical industry
Fears of the population are manipulated, leading to the destruction of families and friendships. This results in a general division within society.
Pills and syringes symbolize the pharmaceutical industry, which is sometimes revered as a deity and worshipped.
Environmental protection has always been an important issue, but suddenly it has become completely secondary! If you look closer, you will find plastic in the form of Covid tests and discarded masks.
Rubik's Cube and Clowns
The Rubik's Cube symbolizes the political parties that are currently struggling and often not behaving properly.
I also want to express this symbolically through traffic signs.
And who are we in these crazy times? The clowns! The clown must remain silent and only do what is demanded of him.
However, humans are fundamentally freedom-loving beings; like a horse, they have a strong urge for freedom.
With this, I want to show that ultimately there is still a glimmer of hope.
Horses and Tin Soldiers
The tin soldiers at the bottom also symbolize a senseless war that has erupted during this difficult time.
